The future looks bright for the NDP and Green party. Province wide 64,000 students in 343 schools voted in an election. 22,000 cast their vote for the NDP (45 seats) and 16,900 voted for the BC Liberals (25 seats). The Greens received 13,000 votes giving them 7 seats.
The Single Transferable Vote was also successful. Anyone for lowering the voting age to 16?
The Student vote program is financially supported by the B.C. Ministry of Education, Elections BC, Encanna, Weyerhaeuser, the BC Teachers' Federation and the Canadian Studies program of Canadian Heritage.
